24/02/2022 - Update

  • Removed the battle info for Imperial Restorationists in the House menu (N).

Unit BALANCING AND OPTIMISATION:

Kheshigs

  • Statistics
    • Win Rate: 53.89% (No.1)
    • Avg. Hero Kills: 0.88 (No.1 - 35% higher than No.2)
    • Avg. Unit Kills 20.68 (No.2 - only 0.18 lower than No.1)

The Kheshigs' win rate is the highest on all servers by a considerable margin. On some servers, it is as high as 55%+ (units with a win rate of 53% or more can be defined as powerful).

By analysing the unit, we identified that the Kheshigs are powerful due to their strong attacks which counter infantry. They can quickly take down Warlords, giving an enemy Warlord little chance to strike back or flee. Their high damage and mobility make them a threat to both units and Warlords, giving them a better performance than other units. Furthermore, their bleed effect durations are too long, preventing wounded Warlords from using Bandage to heal up. Ultimately, this has had a somewhat negative impact on the overall gameplay experience.

Changes

  • ‘Sabre Combo‘ no longer dazes heroes.
  • The Kheshigs' bleed effects no longer work on Warlords.

Following the changes to Kheshigs, we will issue a ‘Kheshig Deindoctrinator’ to all Warlords who created the unit before Feb. 24.

Pavise Crossbowmen

  • Statistics
    • Win Rate: 48.74%
    • Avg. Unit Kills: 10.05
    • (Both of these equal to around No.30, meaning they are fairly weak overall)

Cavalry units are fairly strong in the current meta, with Kheshigs, Cataphract Lancers and Armiger Lancers having a win rate exceeding 52%. Our design goal with the Pavise Crossbowmen has been for them to somewhat counter cavalry. Unfortunately, they aren't performing as well as expected and have been dropping steadily in usage rate for the past few seasons. We want to increase their power against cavalry units to bring more varied tactical choices.

Changes

  • We are increasing the damage Pavise Crossbowmen deal to 4-star and above cavalry by 15%.

Javelin Infantry

  • Statistics
    • Top Avg. Hero Kills: 0.42 (60% of what 5-star ranged units have)

Javelin units previously excelled at killing enemy heroes, however, this is no longer the case when compared to 5-star units following the release of the Houndsmen and the buffs to the Kheshigs and Tercio. We want for more Warlords to try using javelins and increase the gains and sense of achievement when landing hits. With this, we hope to strengthen their unique role in battle and improve the experience of using them.

Changes

  • Initial Ammo:
    • Imperial Javelineers 60 → 90
    • Javelin Sergeants 96 → 120
    • Javelin Militia 56 → 84
    • Demesne Javelineers 70 → 94
    • Black Dragon Javelineers 60 → 90

- Skill Damage Multipliers

  • Imperial Javelineers
    • Piercing Armour Penetration: 200% → 250%
    • Piercing Damage: 220% → 280%
  • Javelin Sergeants
    • Piercing Damage: 320% → 350%
  • Javelin Militia
    • Piercing Armour Penetration: 150% → 220%
  • Demesne Javelineers
    • Piercing Armour Penetration: 150% → 220%
  • Black Dragon Javelineers
    • Piercing Damage: 220% → 260%

Miscellaneous:

  • You can now store up to 99,999,999 Bronze and Silver Coins in your Inventory.
  • Adjusted the text of Buttons in the Settings menu to make it easier to understand.

BUG FIXES:

Units:

  • Resolved an issue where the Imperial Spear Guards' Regeneration skill icon would disappear during Advance.
  • Resolved an issue where the Tercio Arquebusiers would holster their guns immediately upon using “Fusillade” when at their max auto-shoot distance to an enemy.
  • Resolved an issue where the effect of the Tercio Arquebusiers' melee skill differed from the description.

Maps:

  • Resolved an issue where the starting cutscene would lag in Conqueror’s City Assault
  • Resolved an issue where the invulnerability area of attackers' spawn point covered a culverin in Augolia.

Miscellaneous:

  • Resolved an issue where the extra attributes on the crafted mount armour didn't take effect.
  • Resolved an issue of incorrect prompt when Imperial Restorationists checked Access info on a fief owned by a regional lord.
  • Resolved an issue where the info was sometimes incorrect when checking the entry and transit permissions of fiefs on the world map (M).

Maps:

Improved the Territory War map Shield of the Capital. Added a respawn point closer to the front after the attacker occupies the center of the map. This means that the attackers' reinforcements can reach the battle quicker.

WARLORD BALANCING AND OPTIMISATION:

Pike:

The Pike is the most used weapon in Conqueror’s Blade with a usage rate of 21.5% (with the Spear being second at a usage rate of 11%). Its statistics are overly high, especially its ability to survive and escape during a chaotic skirmish on the battlefield, which makes it superior to other medium armoured heroes. Due to this, we will make adjustments to the ‘Wandering Dragon’ skill to slightly reduce the Pike’s extreme burst potential and enable other weapons to stand against them.

  • Reduced the invulnerability window of all stages of the ‘Wandering Dragon’ skill to 0.3 seconds (down from 0.5 seconds).
  • Adjusted the damage of the second phase of the ‘Sky Dragon’ skill to 150% base blunt damage + 1,433 points of blunt damage (down from 175% and 1,183 points).
  • Adjusted the damage of the third phase of the ‘Sky Dragon’ skill to 170% base blunt damage + 2,218 points of blunt damage (down from 200% and 1,868 points).

UNIT BALANCING AND OPTIMISATION:

Imperial Spear Guards:

The statistics for the Imperial Spear Guards reveal that their average damage is 370,800 (which places it as the tenth-ranked unit in terms of average damage output), their win rate rank is 60 and their usage rank is 40. As the Imperial Spear Guards are a defensive 4-star tower-shield unit, they cannot properly make use of their defensive abilities in the current meta, so we’ve made the decision to adjust their design and boost some of their skills giving them an increase in both defence and their usage capabilities.

  • The width of the Shield’s hitbox is increased by 13% while in formation, reducing the chance of arrows passing through their defence.
  • Replaced the ‘Advance’ skill with ‘Heavy Shield Push’. The Imperial Spear Guards will gather in their formation making them immune to crowd control abilities and then they will knock back enemies as they advance.
  • Empowered the skill ‘Cover Commander’. While using ‘Cover Commander’, Imperial Spear Guards become immune to crowd control abilities for 2 seconds and gain 30% increase to all types of damage and defence for every 3 hits they take.
  • The unit trait ‘Heavy Shields’ has been changed to ‘Lock Shields’ When in formation, they can repel enemies with their shields once every 20 seconds.

Sipahis:

The statistics for the Sipahis show that its usage rate is incredibly low (making it the second to last of all units used in the game). The unit is greatly underpowered, whether it be their burst potential, sustained damage or their ability to withstand damage. Their crowd control skills are not enough to ameliorate this weakness, therefore we have decided to improve on their crowd control abilities based on their characteristics.

  • ‘Quick Charge’ has been changed to ‘Charge’ which grants an extra 15% movement speed.
  • Added ‘Impassioned’, this can be used while ‘Charge’ is active. Enemies that have been hit with ‘Charge’ within the last 3 seconds are stunned for 4.5 seconds and take increased damage from the Sipahis.
  • Using ‘Croupade’ grants immunity to control effects and increases all defences by 20% for 1 second.

Tercio Arquebusiers:

The statistics for the Tercio Arquebusiers show a usage rate of 1.1%, which is far beneath the 30% usage rate of the Shenji Grenadiers. The damage of all Arquebusier infantry was increased during previous changes, but some Arqubuisers infantry are still unable to perform well within the current meta. Currently, the Shenji Grenadiers are one of the most used which we believe to be attributed to the lack of skills Arquebusiers have in their arsenal, the characters of the units are not strong enough and also they don’t feel nice to use. We are planning on increasing the abilities of various firearm infantry based on their weapon characteristics to make battles more varied and interesting. Tercio Arquebusiers are our focus for this update, we will be boosting their ranged and melee active skills which will thereby increase their playability.

  • Added a new ranged skill ‘Fusillade’. The Tercio Arquebusiers load extra bullets and fire at a faster rate. ‘Fusillade’ consumes plenty of ammo but has impressive firepower. Following the barrage, their barrels need to cool down and they will switch to melee stance.
  • Added a new melee skill ‘Dashing Blades’. The Tercio Arquebusiers will raise their blades and charge forward, striking twice in quick succession.

BUG FIXES:

Warlords:

  • Resolved an issue where right-clicking with the Bow wouldn't cancel the animation after shooting.

Units:

  • Resolved an issue where the Iron Reapers's Prerequisites and Progress overlapped in the UI.

  • Resolved an issue where multiple duplicate messages would appear on the City list on the right side of the World Map when an allied city was declared war on by multiple houses.
  • Resolved an issue with the information displayed regarding volume for the epic Hwacha Launcher.
  • Resolved an issue where 'Hellfire' didn't have a display of which fiefs it could be processed in.
  • Corrected the King of the Broken badge's quality from iron to silver.
  • Corrected the quest description of the Houndsmen Season Challenges' second stage to attain Hat-Trick or A Deadly Century badges, instead of only the Hat-Trick badge.
  • Resolved an issue where the head part of the Antique Vardariot Unit Attire clashed when worn by all of the Highlanders season units.

13/01/2022 - Update

OPTIMISATIONS:

Due to the nature of the changes being made to Warlords, their units and Runes we will be issuing the following compensation after the changes are made live with our weekly Maintenance.

  • Items that are required to remove all doctrines equipped to units that receive balance changes will be issued to players that already own them.
  • All players will also receive 25 Lotus Water
  • All players will also receive 3 Treatises.

WORLD MAP CHANGES & IMPROVEMENTS

  • Honour rewards from fief quests have been increased.
  • Added “Rare Mercenary Gift”, “Epic Mercenary Gift”, “Rare House Gift” and “Epic House Gift” as rewards for completing Fief Quests.
  • A fief's level now also affects the reward multiplier of its quests. Levelling up a fief will increase the rewards gained from completing quests in that fief, giving you an extra means with which to earn greater rewards.

Reward multipliers will affect the following rewards:

  • Honor, Player XP, House XP, Bronze Coins, and Building Materials.
    • See the appendix for the multipliers on various fief levels.
  • The quest reward “A Pile of Tattered Bags” will be automatically converted into Bronze Coins and awarded immediately. The number of coins gained is affected by a fief's reward multiplier.
  • “Make a Donation” quests requiring food, Jennet or Courser are now more frequent.“In Service To The Realm” quests will also require food.
  • High quality Rebel trophies can be turned in for artillery through fief quests
  • Added a Fief Construction explanation to the Fief Overview and House's Fief Management menus. You can now check crafting requirements on different levels and for different types, along with Triumphs and extra rewards at season-end.
  • Added information on fief types to the resource descriptions.
  • Improved some issues with how information is displayed to make it easier to enact your strategies. Now, war declaration info will be in a set order, making it easier to find fiefs you have declared war against.
  • Artillery that cannot be traded will have a lock icon in the upper right corner to reflect this.
  • The maximum suggested price for “Rebel Trophies” has been increased. See the appendix for detailed information on the changes.

WARLORD BALANCING AND OPTIMISATION:

Longsword & Shield

  • Triggering Mercy of Heaven will grant a 15% reduction to melee damage taken for 3 seconds. Also heals you for 5% of your health every 3 seconds during its duration.

  • Added the “Unity” Unit Trait to the Bagpipers and Claymores units: Part of the debuff the Claymores receive when “For Freedom!” ends don't take effect when affected by the Bagpipers' “Segue”.

Axe Raiders

  • Control effects (dazed, stun, knockback, knockdown, send flying) can now affect the Axe Raiders and they will no longer immediately recover from such effects.

Fortebraccio Pikemen

  • Increased the Fortebraccio Pikemen's damage to cavalry while using Stand Firm by 15%.
  • Increased the damage of Stand Firm based on enemy movement speed by up to 15%. Using Stand Firm against charging cavalry will reach this number.

Firearm Infantry

  • The damage decay based on the range for firearm units has been reduced. 20m damage decay reduces to a maximum of 10% (down from 20%); 20-40m reduces to a maximum of 18% (down from 30%); maximum decay range increases to 56m (up from 48m), leading to a minimum of 65% damage.
  • The overall accuracy of firearm units has been increased. Attacking enemies at around 30m has the highest increase of 15% accuracy.

Seasonal Runes

  • We are changing the effect of ”Grice - Saddle” to "Bandage's cooldown reduced by 50% and duration by 40% (it previously reduced both cooldown and duration by 50%).

  • Increasing the effect of “Wolf - Consumption” to "Each 3 enemy soldiers you kill increases damage dealt by 10% for 15 seconds" (was 10% for 10 seconds for every 5 soldiers killed).
  • Increasing the effect of “Eagle - Nest” to "While in a flag area, damage dealt is increased by 12%" (was 10%).
  • Increasing the effect of Eagle - Unyielding” to "Movement speed is increased by 8% while at below 40% health" (previously triggered while below 30%).
  • Increasing the effect of “Eagle - Steel Tail” to "Armor penetration increased by 45" (was 40).

Weapon Runes

Longsword & Shield

Shortsword & Shield

  • Altered the effect of "God of War's Wing" to "All damage is increased by 10% while above 50% health and damage taken is reduced by 8% while below 50%" (previously increased damage by 12% and granted 8% to all defences).
  • Increased the duration of "God of War's Beak" to "For every 1 hero kill or assist, nearby allies have their damage increased by 10% and damage taken reduced by 10% for 12 seconds" (was 8 seconds).

  • The effect of "General's Fury" has been altered to "On every 3rd “Basic Attack”, fire 3 arrows at 50% power" (was 40% power). The three arrows fired might not all hit their intended targets making the damage increase less obvious. So, we are increasing the damage of each arrow, making this rune more potent on medium distances.

  • Towns and forts now start with 20 minutes
  • Villages now start with 15 minutes.
  • The time extension upon occupying the central fief has been reduced to 10 minutes.

The effects Territory War battles have on fiefs has been adjusted. Now, every time the central fief changes hands, the fief will lose 10 Prosperity. If a fief changes hands, the fief will lose 35 Prosperity.

While a Cohort is defending a fief during a war rally, they will receive support from more advanced NPC’s.

Fief Construction

  • Adjustments have been made to materials required for upgrading and maintaining fiefs: compared to previous seasons, fiefs will require fewer materials with the reduction differing for different levels. Materials required to maintain a fief will be reduced for lower fief levels and increased for higher levels.
  • Fiefs will now start with an initial level between 4 and 7.

Fief Quest Changes

  • The required resources and rewards for fief quests in Season X: Highlanders have been changed. Region capitals will provide fief quests aimed at helping lower-level Warlords grow.
  • Warlords on the World Map will be able to use fief quests to upgrade lower-level fiefs quicker than before, whereas high-level fiefs will provide quests with richer rewards. Fief quests will also ask for a greater variety of resources than previously.

Quick March

  • The ability to use “Quick March” will now be available on the World Map.
  • Using this will increase movement speed by 1.2 times, however, food consumption will also double. You will no longer be able to sustain Quick March once out of food.

  • Added an Attire Chests menu (accessible with G).
  • Adjusted the position of some menus: 'Attire Chests (G)' will be behind 'Mailbox (Y)', and 'Quests (L)' will now be behind 'Inventory (I)'.

From this menu, you will also be able to view the contents of the Attire Chest along with how frequent each rarity grade appears.

 Score Calculation Changes

Assist Points

Introduced Assist Points, which can be earned by making valuable contributions to your team. This will give players more freedom of choice in battle, and open up more varied and strategic gameplay options to be rewarded as opposed to more conventional point-scoring through damage, kills, and objectives. This will benefit heroes and their units who are better suited to support roles as opposed to frontline fighters and encourage the greater use of such support mechanics and a supportive gameplay style. Assist points can be earned by buffing the attack and defence of allies, healing allies, crowd-controlling enemies to create an opening for greater damage to be dealt with, and tanking and sustaining damage for your allies.

Valid Assist Actions will be tracked to determine whether actions were beneficial to a battle’s outcome, and thus should be rewarded with Assist Points. If Bagpipers buff an ally but the ally deals no damage, for instance, no Assist Points will be rewarded. How and when you use supportive buffs and skills is critical to the score you earn.

Early-Game Improvements

  • The early-game experience has been adjusted, this includes changes to XP and rewards.
  • Some features will gradually open up as a player progresses in the main story or reaches certain levels.
  • Improved the Siege Battle matchmaking algorithm so that you are pitted against opponents closer in strength to you.
  • All Warlords will be returned to the spawn point in Conqueror's City at the season's end. Once the new season starts, you can make your way to either of the contested areas by talking to the relevant NPC.
  • A Warlord must reach a certain level before they can proceed to the current season's contested area.
  • Added tutorial stages for some content so that newer players have an easier time understanding certain concepts.

Unit Challenge Quest Improvements

  • All quests requiring the use of a certain unit while attaining a rating of A or better will no longer require a specific unit to complete.

Mount Care

  • From Season X: Highlanders, horses need to consume Hay has been removed.
  • The Horse Seller will no longer be selling Hay.
  • After Season IX: Tyranny concludes, all Hay you own will be converted into Bronze Coins at a ratio of 1:500.
