This opens up a completely new way to play Conqueror's Blade, allowing you to make your Warlord feel more unique and adapt your Warlord to fit your own playstyle. Runes are Season-based and will expire with the end of the Season, however, the system itself will persist throughout future seasons.

Unlocking Runes:

Runes are unlocked by progressing your Seasonal Level.

Press F5 and navigate to the Seasonal Runes tab. From this panel, you can see your current Seasonal level and all of the runes that can be unlocked for the Season, you can claim your runes from this panel once you reach the required level.

OPTIMISATIONS:

Battle Pass System:

We’ve made some adjustments to the Battle Pass system for Season VII.

Blades:

Blades were introduced as part of Season VI as a secondary currency that players could earn via the Battle Pass which could be used to purchase Antique attires. Based on players feedback and data, we have made adjustments to the Seasonal Store and the Seasonal Currency.

  • Hero Tokens will no longer be part of the Battle Pass, only Blades can be earned via the Battle Pass in Season VII.
  • Blades are the only Seasonal currency available in Season VII.
  • Blades from Season VI can be used in Season VII and will be carried over to future Seasons.
  • Blades earned in Season VII will be able to be carried over to future Seasons.
  • Blades have a cap of 10,000. Please make sure to spend your Blades before you earn more.
  • Blades will now only be displayed in the Seasonal Store interface, they will no longer be stored in your inventory.
  • Blades can be used to purchase Season VII Weapon Skins, Season VII unit and horse attires, Consumables,  Wrath of the Nomads Antique attires and Soldier of Fortune Antique attires.

Antique Attires and the Seasonal Store:

Antique attires based on attires from Season III: Soldiers of Fortune have been added to the Seasonal Store.

Things to note:

  • Season III Antique Weapon Attires have been added to the store and will only be available throughout Season VII.
  • Season III Antique Hero and Unit attires will be on a 20% discount for Season VII and their price will rise in future Seasons.
  • Season II Antique Hero and Unit attires which were available in Season VI are now full price.
  • Season II Antique Weapon Attires have been removed from the Seasonal Store.

  • Added a display of the additional Experience gained by having Premium Account above the XP bar in the battle results menu.

Maps:

Siege Battle Maps

To improve the gameplay experience of the attacking side during matchmaking siege battles, we have added a safe spawn point near the attacker’s base during each stage. Players may opt to spawn here, however, we have not made any changes to the default spawn point at the front lines.

Augolia (Siege)

The attackers have a difficult time on Augolia as it is difficult to maintain offence, leading to them having a rather low win rate. Thus, we have added a supply point for the defenders which can be occupied, enabling the attackers to spawn nearby and increase their reinforcements.

Sun City (Siege)

The terrain of Sun City is incredibly open and the two sides spawn quite far away from each other, this has led to the attackers having too much ground to play with, making it easy to use mobility as an advantage. This has made it difficult for the defenders to attain victory, and the attacker’s win rate has remained consistently high. Due to this, we have adjusted the reward times for Capturing A and B for the attacker down from 3 minutes to 2 minutes. High mobility is still encouraged, but with this change the tolerance for error is smaller.

Tutorial Maps:

Resolved some known bugs with the tutorial maps to improve the overall experience. Changes include:

  • Reduced the number of dummies during the cavalry tutorial and adjusted their placements. This should make it easier for the various weapon classes.
  • A weapons guide will now be displayed for the weapon you are using when battling against the NPC Rupert in the weapon tutorial.
  • Improved the UI information display of the weapon tutorial. Overhead NPC information will no longer be shown through walls, and the minimap menu has been closed.
  • Resolved an issue where players could interact with the Weapon Rack while mounted.
  • Resolved an issue where the Sprint button would sometimes be displayed incorrectly.
  • Resolved an issue where mounting the walls in the Augolia tutorial map from a Siege Tower would sometimes make it impossible to destroy the walls.
  • Improved the supply point inside the walls in the Augolia tutorial map.
  • Added a Battering Ram outside the gates of B on the Frontier Camp map.
  • Added a new quest to the tutorial which asks you to complete Training Camp matches.

Miscellaneous Maps:

  • Resolved an issue where it was possible to mount near certain walls in the tavern of Turul Város.
  • Resolved an issue where no sound was played when pushing Battering Rams on the maps ‘The Storehouse’ and ‘Lesser Greenpeak’.
  • Loading screens of all snow filled maps have been replaced with a non-snow filled version.

World Map:

We have made some improvements to the tooltips on the Map and World Map in this season. The new tooltips have a more aesthetic design and it is easier to read. This affects the Region Capitals, Fiefs and Resource Sites.

NEW PLAYER OPTIMISATION:

To improve the new player experience, and to avoid features becoming available too rapidly, we are adjusting the levels at which some features become available, this should allow it to be easier for players to ease into the game at a good pace.

  • Mercenaries - Available from player level 10 (previously was 11)
  • Events - Available at level 15 (previously was 7)
  • Seasons - Available from player level 15 (previously was 7)
  • Market - Available from player level 18 (previously was 10)
  • Technology - Available from player 25 (previously was 18)

We have also adjusted Hero experience gained from the Hero’s Journey - Path of Bravery:

  • 1st stage of quests have had their experience reduced from 3,000 to 1,000
  • 2nd stage of quests have had their experience reduced from 4,000 to 2,000.
  • 3rd stage of quests have had their experience reduced from 7,000 to 5,000.

We’ve also made some adjustments to the amount of experience required to level up units.

  • Raised the amount of experience to progress a Unit from Level 1 to Level 2 from 2,000 to 10,000.
  • Raised the amount of experience to progress a Unit from Level 2 to Level 3 from 6,000 to 12,000.
  • Raised the amount of experience to progress a Unit from Level 3 to Level 4 from 14,000 to 15,000.

WARLORD BALANCING AND OPTIMISATION:

Unification Changes:

According to gameplay data and player feedback, the iteration of skills that reduce the enemies defence are over-tuned across the board, which has led to defence having a fairly low value and not feeling like it has any effect on the battlefield. With more and more units being added to the game, warlord's survivability has taken a hit, so we are making the following adjustments.

All Weapons:

  • Base health for all weapons has been increased by 2,500.

Spear:

  • The skill ‘Gungnir’s Greeting’ no longer reduces the defence of enemies hit, and the extra effect of ‘Gungnir’s Greeting I’ has been changed to ‘Every time you hit an enemy, your armour penetration increases by 2% and damage taken is reduced by 2%. The effect lasts for 6 seconds, and can stack up to 10 times’.
  • The skills ‘Overhead Strike’ and ‘Dragon’s Roar’ extra effect has changed from ‘This attack punctures the target's armour, reducing their defense’ to ‘Every time you hit an enemy, your armour penetration increases by 2% and damage taken is reduced by 2%. The effect lasts for 6 seconds, and can stack up to 10 times.’

Bow:

  • Enemies hit by the skill ‘Bodkin-Tipped I’ have their defence reduced from 30% to 10%.
  • Enemies hit by the skill ‘Bodkin-Tipped II’ have their defence reduced from 40% to 20%.
  • Enemies hit by the skill ‘Bodkin-Tipped III’ have their defence reduced from 50% to 30%.

Short Bow:

  • Enemies hit by the skill ‘Steel-tipped Arrow II’ have their defence reduced from 30% to 20%.
  • Enemies hit by the skill ‘Steel-tipped Arrow III’ have their defence reduced from 30% to 20%.

Poleaxe:

Based on gameplay data and player feedback we are adjusting the Poleaxe to increase its damage capability against units.

Changes:

  • Added a new dismount skill ‘Combat Dismount’. Dismount straight into combat, inflicting 200% of your base slashing damage.Extra Effect: Knocks down enemies.
  • Increased the extra effect which slows your target for the skill ‘The Old billhook’ from 20% to 40%.
  • Greatly increased the block break of basic attacks and skills.

Longsword and Shield:

The Longsword and Shield’s damage output is lower than anticipated, therefore we are raising the damage output of its skills.

Changes:

  • Increased each attack’s base slash damage by 10% for the skill ‘With Valour;.
  • Replaced the extra effect for the ‘Paladin’ skill. Instead of reducing the target's movement speed, it will now reduce the defence when hitting enemies by 15% for 6 seconds.
  • Increased each attack’s block break by 150 for the skill ‘Shield Bash’.
  • The final attack for the skill ‘Sally Forth’ will not knock enemies back within a small range.
  • Increased the block break of basic attacks.

Spear:

Based on gameplay data and player feedback, we have learned that the Spear’s burst damage exceeds our expectations, therefore we are making the following adjustments.

Changes:

  • The skill ‘Full Tilt Charge’ can no longer maintain charge once the mount’s endurance has been depleted.
  • The block break for the skill ‘Procris’s Gift’ has been reduced from 1,000 to 500.
  • Reduced the base damage bonus of the skill ‘Dragon’s Roar I’ from 367% to 350% and its set damage from 4,783 to 4,183.
  • Reduced the base damage bonus of the skill ‘Dragon’s Roar II’ from 367% to 350% and its set damage from 5,719 to 5,119.
  • Reduced the base damage bonus of the skill ‘Dragon’s Roar III’ from 367% to 350% and its set damage from 6,655 to 6,055.
  • Increased the block break of basic attacks.
  • The hit box of the skill ‘Dismounting Strike’ has been changed to better conform to the visual effect.

BEFORE

AFTER

Shortsword and Shield:

Based on gameplay data and player feedback we are adjusting Shortsword and Shield to give it a better balance of risk and reward.

Changes:

  • Once the defensive buff of the skill ‘Ironsides’ runs out, you will be weakened for 4 seconds, reducing the warlord’s defence by 15%
  • Increased the block break of basic attacks.

Dual Blade:

The Dual Blades are currently performing well, however when ‘Ambush’ is used when coming out of Stealth we have found that the armour penetration is a bit too high, therefore we are adjusting that.

Changes:

  • Reduced the armour penetration by 30% for the skill ‘Ambush’.

Glaive:

The Glaive is a fairly well-rounded and highly versatile weapon, however it’s damage against units is slightly worse than anticipated, therefore we are making the following adjustments.

Changes:

  • Increased the area of attack and the amount of units it may hit. This serves to increase its overall Area of Effect (AoE) damage.
  • Increased the block break of basic attacks.

Nodachi:

Our ambition with the Nodachi is to make it a weapon which relies on chaining skills together, making it a high risk and high reward type weapon. Due to this, we are going to be making adjustments to it’s Health Drain, Bloodthisty and Survivability.

  •  Increased the block break of basic attacks and skills.
  • Adjusted the range of ‘Dragon’s Leap’ by modifying the hit box of the skill and adjusted the speed at which damage is dealt.

BEFORE

AFTER

  • Adjusted the effects of the skills Bloodthirsty and Monstrous Blade, details in the table below.

SKILL

BEFORE

AFTER

Maul:

The Maul is too strong when it comes to breaking the enemies formation, but it also requires the player to master the usage of Stamina, so we are making the following adjustments:

  • Increased the stamina cost when running with the skill ‘Mighty Mjölnir’. You can no longer run once stamina has been depleted.
  • Increased the stamina cost when running after having grappled an enemy with the skill ‘Strike and Grapple’.
  • Increased the stamina recovery speed by 10%.
  • Reduced the block break of some basic attacks and skills.
  • Reduced the block break of the first and second hits of Maelstrom I, II and III.
  • Reduced the block break of the first and second hits of Up from Hel I, II and III

UNIT BALANCING AND OPTIMISATION:

Melee Infantry:

In Season VI, infantry units were a bit on the weaker side, they deal less damage than other units and they can’t take as much damage as they previously could, so we’re making some changes in Season VII to remedy some of these issues.

The initial health listed in the tables below reflects a unit's basic health, plus their health gained when levelling up by 1. For example, the Serf’s initial health shown in the in-game Unit interface is 3691 + 129. Swords & Shield Infantry:

Sword and shield units have a hard time dealing with shield units, even when having an advantage in numbers they can barely ever break through the enemies defences due to their low damage, so we have increased the block break of all Sword and Shield infantry units by 60%.

Polearm Infantry:

Polearm Infantry units were too weak against cavalry in Season VI which has led to warlords feeling that there is no good counter to cavalry units. We want to emphasise the advantage of using polearm units against cavalry, therefore we are making the following adjustments:

Changes:

  • Changed the trait ‘Anti-Cavalry’ to ‘Swamp’.
  • Trait effect has been changed from ‘Deal 10% increased damage against cavalry’ to ‘Deal 16% increased damage to cavalry. Damaging a cavalry unit also slows them by 60% for 2 seconds’.
  • All polearm units have the ‘Swamp’ trait.
  • Updated the values for various unit attributes, details in the table below.

Ranged Infantry:

Bow Infantry:

Ranged units have underperformed for a very long time, while they have the advantage of range (as their type suggests) they have too low armour penetration, they’re ineffective when trying to put pressure on the enemies during battles, and they are ineffective when attempting to threaten the enemies back lines. Due to their ineffectiveness in battle, they have gradually been replaced by crossbow and firearm units, we want to increase the amount of warlords bringing bow units into battle, therefore we are making the following changes:

  • Increased the accuracy of all bow units against far away targets.
  • Updated the values for various unit attributes, details in the table below.

Cavalry:

Khevtuul:

The Khevtuuls are designed as a unit that can harass the enemy by providing supporting damage and they’re also intended to be a unit that are capable of breaking the enemy's ranks, therefore we are making the following changes.

Changes:

  • Piercing damage is increased by 100 and attacks weaken defence by 3% for 6 seconds, stacking up to 5 times for the skill ‘Locust Swarm’.

Leadership Costs:

With this update, we are making significant changes to balancing, meaning that units that were previously powerful have a hard time retaining their strength, due to this we are going to roll out a series of changes to their Leadership cost to better reflect their strength in battle. We are starting with Kheshigs and Rattan Rangers, more changes will be released overtime.

Kheshigs:

  • Leadership Cost is reduced from 350 to 325.

Rattan Rangers:

  • Leadership Cost is reduced from 330 to 320.
