Harvesting souls since 1994, the Undead Lords encamped in Conqueror’s Blade earlier this year and haven’t looked back since. Talking to us from his throne of skulls, leader PanzerUDL filled us in on some of the group’s history and how they aim to help write it for Conqueror’s Blade.

How did you first find out about Conqueror’s Blade and what attracted you to the game?

The Undead Lords (UDL) has become a gaming institution over almost twenty-five years, and in doing so have followed the development of all mainstream gaming titles that we believe will fit our particular style of gameplay. Conqueror’s Blade offers a unique blend of PvP, territory control, and politics that we all enjoy.  We started as a small group of testers in the closed beta and have expanded our involvement since that time.

Why did you decide to set up a house in Conqueror’s Blade?

This answer is simple. We would never sub to another house, and Conqueror’s Blade offers our members gameplay we enjoy.

What do you think makes your house different?

UDL has a unique philosophy and set of core values that has helped it flourish as an exclusive PvP guild. When you join UDL you make a decision to join for life.

  • Respect - Respect the tag, respect tradition, respect those that came before you
  • Dedication - Dedicate yourself to the process, pursue growth and learning
  • Professionalism - Watch your mouth, leave drama at the door, treat others as you would want to be treated
  • Honor - Earn mutual respect from your peers, conform to the rules, project reputation worthy of respect and admiration
  • Loyalty - Bleed devotion and faithfulness to UDL in all matters

As a group we relax and have fun, but if you’re not holding your weight in combat, demonstrating outstanding quality, or lacking in commitment, we show you the door.

Your house did pretty well in holding off the Osterian Alliance on the NA server. What has been the secret of your success?

Many of our core members have been coordinating with each other in PvP games for years which allows us to often win fights that may otherwise be impossible to win. UDL has been “zerg” busting since the term was coined, and we are capable of formulating strategies to accomplish this mission.  A combination of tactical decisions and shadow play (spy meta gaming) are keys to our success. Outside of that, we are always looking for ways to improve.

What does the house hope to achieve - what will be its legacy in years to come?

UDL hopes to continue its tradition of zerg busting in Conquerer’s Blade. We want to be remembered as the rock that didn’t succumb to the will of the hordes. Years from now when individuals look back at this game we want to be remembered for our skill on the field as it has been since UDL’s inception.

What’s your favorite class to play as and why?

Personally, my favorite class to play is something “tanky”. In Conqueror’s Blade I have been focusing on Longsword and Shortsword as it allows me to get in the middle of a scrum and sway the outcome.  Being a frontline meat-shield is rewarding.

What activities does the house regularly engage in and enjoy?

Our house engages in every aspect of Conquerer’s Blade, but we are especially fond of the PvP mechanics.  After all, we do owe our lord Myrkul souls!

Who are your most trusted warlords and what roles do they command within the organization?

Our guild has a rigid structure. Our highest-ranking members, Knights of UDL, are members that have put serious commitment into the organization, often many years of proving themselves. It is these members we lean on the most for our continued success from game to game.

If someone wanted to join your house or start a dialogue towards trade or establishing a pact, what should they do?

They should reach out to us at our Discord and apply officially at our website www.undeadlords.net if they choose that path.

Are there other houses that you admire or that you consider to be natural allies?

After decades of competitive gaming, a union has formed with a selection of some of the worlds oldest and most well-established guilds. We call this abomination the Death Alliance.  While some of these guilds, like Dreadlords (DRED) and The Balance (TB), have active members playing under the UDL tag in Conqueror’s Blade, others like Lords of Death (LoD) have raised their own house and we are currently allied in-game.

We have also met new friends in Conqueror’s Blade, for example, Noctem Invicte, that we have become close with and hope to continue the relationship for years to come.

Conversely, are they are many houses that you'd consider mortal enemies?

Any house that is not a servant of Death is an enemy of UDL in the end. The Lord of Bones requires souls and it is our duty to provide.

Many thanks to PanzerUDL for answering our questions. If you know of a house that is deserving of similar recognition that we should profile in the future article, please make your nomination via our Discord channel.
