WARLORD BALANCING AND OPTIMISATION:

Dual Blades:

We identified that the “Marked for Death” skill affected both the caster and the target in a negative way:

  • Targets would feel as if the skill could control them for long periods of time.
  • Casters were deprived of the ability to move or use other skills while the skill was active, this could be risky for Dual Blades with low defence.

Due to the above issues we decided to make the following changes:

  • Duration reduced by ⅓, which leads to a reduction in attack time.
  • Dual Blades can now gain control of themselves earlier once casting the skill, making it easier to use other skills.
  • Please note: Total Damage dealt remains the same.

Optimized the cooldown for “The Dance of Death” by fixing a bug that prevented the time from being correctly shown when the skill was tapped repeatedly. The timer of the skill now starts when the skill is cast, we’ve also made a little change to the skill by slightly reducing its cooldown for II and III.

  • I: Increased cooldown from 60s to 65s
  • II: Increased cooldown from 55s to 58s
  • III: Increased cooldown from 45s to 46s

Nodachi:

We identified that Nodachi wasn’t that great at finishing off units in battle. With melee units gained more Armour, the Nodachi could not inflict damage as high as expected, due to this we made the following change:

  • The Life Drain buff obtained when hitting an enemy with the following skills (Bloodthirsty, Samurai’s March, Fearless & Steadfast), now also adds 30 points of Slashing Armour Penetration and Piercing Armour Penetration

Glaive:

Optimised the way Ultimate attacks are controlled when mounted. When holding down the right mouse button, Glaive gets ready to strike, when the button is released, he strikes. Effects of the right-click control remains the same.

Musket:

Added a cast animation when Musket uses the "Fine Gunpowder" skill, it no longer casts the skill immediately.

Short Bow:

We identified that the performance of Short Bow was not satisfying as it was unable to hurt units which had tough armour, due to this we made the following adjustment:

  • Shooting skills consume a layer of buff obtained by rolling, when consumed it grants 15% extra Armour Piercing.

Bow:

We identified that arrows from the Bow were able to stun enemies when they were at long range. To make this skill less powerful, we have changed the attack effects for Bow.

  • When the distance exceeds 60m, arrows can no longer stun targets.

Warlord Bug Fixes:

Maul:

  • Fixed a bug that caused targets to take fall damage when thrown from a position lower than the position they were caught by the Strike and Grapple skill used by the Maul.
  • Fixed a bug where the Maul consumes no Stamina when sprinting with a target caught with Strike and Grapple. Maul now loses Stamina when he sprints with an enemy. When Stamina drops to 0, he will drop the enemy.
  • Fixed a bug when unlocking challenge stages of the Maul, the skills would not unlock correctly.

Nodachi:

  • Fixed a bug that caused Nodachi to restore HP when they inflicted damage with Trebuchets and Siege Engines.

Spear:

  • Fixed a bug where the hit box of the Spear attack when jumping from horseback was applied earlier than the real animation.

Shortsword and Shield:

  • Fixed a bug where the skill “Kick III” wouldn’t knock down enemies correctly.
  • Fixed a bug where you would not gain acceleration when hitting an enemy with the skill “Throw Shield”.

Short Bow:

  • Fixed a bug where the skills “Throw Bola” and “Parting Shot” would consume Stamina upon use.

Dual Blade:

  • Fixed a bug which caused the “Marked for Death” skill to be interrupted.

UNIT BALANCING AND OPTIMISATION:

Vanguard Archers:

Compared to other archers, the Vanguard Archer was not a viable pick as it should be since its damage output was lower than archers of the same rank. Due to this, we made the following changes:

  • Increased damage, armour penetration, rate of fire and accuracy by 7%.

Men-at-Arms:

Compared to 3-star Shortsword and Shield units, this tier 4 unit was not a viable pick since it cannot take or deal high damage, therefore we have decided to make the following changes:

  • Skill: Decreased cooldown of Recover from 60s to 50s.
  • Increased damage and defence by 10%.
  • Slightly increased its desire to attack enemies.

Yeomen:

Yeomen were easy to take down as it was quite vulnerable and it didn’t deal damage as high as we had hoped for, therefore we made the following changes:

  • Increased unit size from 16 to 18.
  • Increased damage and defence by 15%.
